Monitoring Made More Useful: New Agents for VMware and NetApp; Updated Enhancements to IBM Storwize

At Advanced Technology Services (ATS) Group, we’re always looking to update and improve our flagship Galileo Performance Explorer product suite. After all, an IT datacenter equipped with the most innovative server hosts and storage hardware solutions means little if a business doesn’t also have the capability to analyze and make sense of all the performance and storage data that’s churned through on an hourly basis.

With a powerful solution like Galileo Performance Explorer at your disposal, our customers can monitor all aspects of their business’ IT datacenter operations to ensure capacity thresholds are kept in check and issue alarms in the event those thresholds are exceeded. Our storage reporting and metrics provide unparalleled performance analysis and capacity planning.

And it just got better.

This month, we released several updates to the Galileo suite in support of our commitment to continual innovation and enhancement.

A new agent is now available for NetApp Storage Filers. Now, NetApp filers and storage solutions can benefit from even more comprehensive monitoring, management, and performance alerting. All of this, of course, can reduce potential downtime by improving overall problem resolution, which in turn can improve performance.

Similarly, a new agent for VMware virtualized environments offers many of the same benefits of the NetApp agent. The VMware agent can more accurately identify configuration issues and isolate diminished or underutilized resources because it can access a wide array of common configuration analytics, such as OS utilization levels and processor/memory statistics. Administrators can customize GUI dashboards to more easily analyze data, and can drill down from the Cluster Level, through the Host level, down into VM level statistics.

IBM Storwize devices are the storage solutions tailored for entry to midrange workloads. We now offer enhanced configuration details for these devices, and those details can be displayed and analyzed via Array Tables, Port Tables, Mdisk Tables, Vdisk Tables and drive configuration tables. Customers can generate and review these charts to access a wide variety data and performance issues.
