What metrics will you collect from instrumentation of the servers attached to the Tegile? Can you see into the SAN fabric and IO / latency?

Q: Can you tell me the level of support you have for Tegile HA2100 and T4500?  What metrics will you collect from instrumentation of the servers attached to the Tegile? Can you see into the SAN fabric and IO / latency?

A:   We don’t run into Tegile HA2100 andT4500 in our large enterprise customers. My understanding is that this is similar to Flash (Pure, Nimble). Galileo is able to monitor the Hosts (VMware, Linux, Windows) attached to the Tegile subsystem and monitors the I/O, throughput and disk latency – showing the health of the subsystem.

We collect the following on server OS platforms in great detail, see example below.

  • CPU, Memory, Network, Process level, Disk, fiber adapter, Tape, etc.

Galileo also support the SAN fabric, both Brocade and Cisco, down to the port level with the following:

  • Switch/Director level
  • Port channel
  • Ports
  • Latency, errors,
  • Trending

Here are some metrics below for further clarification:
