Malvern, PA - May 15, 2023 - Galileo, the single most powerful observability platform built for the modern data center, now includes dedicated monitoring support for IBM® Hardware Management Console (HMC) environments, extending visibility into IBM Power® Systems infrastructure, partition behavior, and capacity utilization.
For organizations running IBM Power environments, understanding how resources are allocated and consumed over time is critical. While HMC provides configuration and operational views, teams often lack the historical context needed to validate performance, track capacity changes, and support long-term planning.
This release brings HMC data into Galileo alongside compute, storage, and network systems, allowing teams to analyze Power infrastructure as part of the broader environment.
“Power environments are highly capable, but they’re also highly dynamic,” said Tim Conley, Founder and Principal of ATS Group. “Teams need to understand how partitions, processor pools, and capacity are evolving over time, not just how they look in the moment.”
The HMC monitoring capability enables organizations to track:
- LPAR allocation and shared processor pool utilization to validate entitlements and identify over- or under-provisioning
- Frame-level configuration, including processor and memory capacity, and how it changes over time
- Processor and hypervisor behavior to better understand workload performance
- Configuration changes and system events to reduce operational risk and support governance
- Environmental and energy trends, including temperature and power usage patterns
By correlating these metrics with the rest of the infrastructure, Galileo provides a unified view of Power Systems behavior, helping teams move beyond isolated data points and toward a more complete understanding of system performance and risk.
This added visibility supports key operational priorities such as capacity planning, performance validation, and upgrade or consolidation planning. It also reduces the need to rely on multiple tools or manual analysis by consolidating relevant data into a single, consistent view.
The HMC monitoring capability is available now as part of Galileo.
About Galileo
Galileo is an infrastructure observability platform built for the modern data center, providing unified visibility across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. It helps IT teams understand system behavior over time, respond to issues with clarity, and make informed decisions using accurate, correlated data.
The platform brings together Performance, Alerting, and Reporting in a single view, allowing teams to analyze trends, identify risks, and support both operational and business priorities. By capturing granular data without roll-ups and connecting it across systems, Galileo enables more precise troubleshooting, stronger capacity planning, and clearer accountability across the environment.
